👋 Hi, my name is Jae Chun (Jakin) Yang.

📚 Education: B.A in Psychology, Lighthouse Labs Alumni, Former R.O.K Combat Engineer.

🧨 Background & Interests: In the army I trained to blow stuff up and destroy landmines. In university I studied Psychology with a particular interest in langauges, linguistics, and cognitive science. To pay for schooling I went tree planting in British Columbia.

🔍 Past & Present Experience: I'm currently a Full Stack React Native Developer based in Vancouver. For my previous company, Taddy Ink (https://taddy.org/), I built and launched the Inkverse cross-platform mobile/web app (https://inkverse.co/) from the ground up, managing everything from frontend user flows to GraphQL architecture, and deployed apps to production. I've also built websites for local businesses as a freelancer.

🛠️ Future Goals: I want to make this portfolio website better. I also want to build a language learning tool that can be used in conjuction with other apps like Duolingo.

🎵 Hobbies: When I'm not coding or problem-solving, I enjoy recording Christmas music, practicing judo and boxing, pickling veggies, and mushroom cultivation.

💪 Strengths: My superpower is thriving in the discomfort that comes with the early stages of learning. This resilience equips me to tackle undocumented bugs, learn new technologies, and be a supportive team member.
